Sonnet 6
- As I sat one day, bored and unbridled,
- A sad realization had dawned on me.
- Nothing intrigued, mourning my mind idled,
- Til i linked to the greatest blog entry.
- "Home of the world's smallest pancake" it read.
- Dreary amazement crept over my eyes.
- Was this what the caption luringly said,
- Or some wrought ruse of my dismal demise?
- I sat intrigued, glazing over the post,
- And of beauty who snapped the gloried pic.
- This Andrea, ahoy!, to you I toast,
- That maple syrup cured my spirit's sick.
- So in turn I remain a loyal fan,
- Daydreaming over pancake-filled saucepans.
Notes
Yes, I have a crush on Andrea Harner, as I'm sure some of you do, and those who don't yet harbor a crush, do visit www.andreaharner.com. She''s so "mmmm hmmm". And the pancake blog entry is here
This was my first whole hearted attempt at writing about something outside my own life experiences and inspired by online content. And I'm glad it worked out so well, granted the source inspiration is tremendous. Also, Mrs. Harner recently redesigned her blog and it''s no longer titled "Home of the world''s smallest pancake", nor does it prominently display the infamous photograph (it's in the archives though).
