Sonnet 43

  • Callous in nature, ill-factored in thought,
  • Past any magistry that may still remain,
  • Unable to process the dose or the census,
  • Make your mark, rule the day.
  • Fret in the foibles,
  • Ration that regret,
  • Remember why you still ramble,
  • That nature is nature, it is a choice to forget.
  • And when the chance arrives,
  • React.
  • Pry.
  • Wrack.
  • A morning set on settling,
  • Quickly arrives to an evening's meddlings,

Notes

Found a new favorite NYC spot around the corner from a friend's office I was loitering at in LES. A Japanese-style kissaten that served me some tasty chicken curry and a black sesame kinako latte (a tasty non-caffeinated beverage). It felt like a real-life Peaceful Cuisine. Even the bell ring when the food was ready had the right tint to it's ring.

Still phone-less so I just brought my notepad to eat, drink, and write. I may revisit the first quatrain at some later time (mind has felt frazzled throughout this trip, can't get past the feeling) but overall happy with what I'm trying to say here: I get restless, don't fight, stay restless.
