Sonnet 22

  • By all the means and for all the while
  • My goal is simple, your forever smile
  • That boundless grin, from cheek to cheek
  • Alongside twinkles, unabashed, peaked
  • But in roundabout ways, you dash, woe
  • Fettered with muckalucks and dowdy throes
  • Causing that grin to doddle sideways
  • A look you try to address on nigh days
  • But tossing and tumbling is not your role
  • You should enjoy a sweeter suite of something woah
  • Tiaras and trinkets and cowls and hoops
  • Daisies and wands and boppity boop
  • But of the things that will one day crown your head
  • All you need right now is to say hello in red

Notes

Wrote this as part of a gift to someone that helped me get through a rough patch, and much of this is written to commemorate the gift and incidences occurring months prior to handing it off.

Wrote this a little whiles ago, first complete sonnet in over a year, or two, or three. Scary. Love the rhythm of the piece though.
