Sonnet 22
- By all the means and for all the while
- My goal is simple, your forever smile
- That boundless grin, from cheek to cheek
- Alongside twinkles, unabashed, peaked
- But in roundabout ways, you dash, woe
- Fettered with muckalucks and dowdy throes
- Causing that grin to doddle sideways
- A look you try to address on nigh days
- But tossing and tumbling is not your role
- You should enjoy a sweeter suite of something woah
- Tiaras and trinkets and cowls and hoops
- Daisies and wands and boppity boop
- But of the things that will one day crown your head
- All you need right now is to say hello in red
Notes
Wrote this as part of a gift to someone that helped me get through a rough patch, and much of this is written to commemorate the gift and incidences occurring months prior to handing it off.
Wrote this a little whiles ago, first complete sonnet in over a year, or two, or three. Scary. Love the rhythm of the piece though.
